Description
There are a number of covered bridges in New Hampshire but I like this one because of its weathered look. Re-built in 1858 after a windstorm knocked down the original, this bridge crosses the Swift River 6 miles west of Conway just off of route 112. Half mile upstream is the lower falls.
The town of Albany, who maintains the bridge, is a few miles farther but is closer if you fly over Sugarloaf mountain. New Hampshire is like this ... very few towns spread thinly ... making townships over wide areas the way to get your mail.
